US Values Index was created from a belief that public debate needs more than competing facts and opinions. It needs visible standards: a clear account of what Americans claim to value, what honoring those values would require and what judgment the evidence supports.
The aim is not to eliminate disagreement. It is to make judgment more disciplined, transparent and constructive—and to create a common language through which Americans can evaluate the nation they share.
